Leadership Coaching

“Executive coaches are not for the meek. They’re for people who value unambiguous feedback..
All coaches have one thing in common, it’s that they are ruthlessly results-oriented.”

– Fast Company

Today’s leaders are required to do more than ever before. And, it can be lonely at the top. The more senior you are in the company, the fewer people you can speak freely with. You need someone you can bounce ideas around with; someone to help you explore new ideas, puzzle out challenging situations, or just think out loud with.

As your trusted Coach, we fill that role. When you have a Coach at your side, you gain the chance to see things from the macro and the micro; from different angles and perspectives. Sometimes, when life is full, it is easy to lose sight of what matters for you, your team, your organization, and your life. Coaching helps you see through different lenses and helps you learn the agility of moving between perspectives.

Success is a habit

Success is not an accident—it is the byproduct of engaging in the right behaviour over time. It is a habit. It’s a result of personal commitment, focus, and self-awareness all oriented towards successfully accomplishing the outcomes of your organization.

Each of us face moments when we either propel forward in our careers, or risk stalling out. Perhaps that is where you find yourself: at the limits of your professional capabilities. You need to develop new ones that will launch you forward again.

We’ll help you thrive as a leader

We work with you one-on-one to create customized leadership development plans to help you be a high impact, thriving leader. Our practical coaching conversations and assessments provide the clarity necessary to establish practical, actionable strategies to help you remove your blind spots, improve your impact, and achieve sustainable results.

As your Coach, we’ll help you stay focused. We are your sounding board, strategic thinking partner, and support system. We’ll help you think strategically about where you want to go and how you want to get there. We’ll also keep you on track, and hold you accountable to your goals so you can make your vision a reality.

Your coaching sessions will give you an opportunity to step back and think more strategically, to process challenging relationship dynamics, and to make better decisions. Ultimately, this means you will be more intentional about your business leadership, and relationships, and when you arrive home you can leave the office behind.

We’ll help you:

  • Overcome any obstacles that are currently in your way
  • Become aware of your blind spots
  • Establish the groundwork for ongoing success
  • Assess your situation with greater clarity
  • Identify and refine your top strategic priorities for the year
  • Navigate and lead your team and the organization more effectively
  • Develop heightened personal awareness to help you establish your influence more quickly
  • Create a clear Action Plan that you can begin implementing immediately
  • Get clear on the impact you are having
  • Ensure you get every possible career advantage available to you

Peer leadership groups

We also coach small groups of leaders—either intact or cross-functional teams—to help them improve their individual and collective impact. Learning together and coaching each other, these peer cohorts increase their self-awareness, grow their leadership skills, transform their relationships and foster a coaching culture. The result is a team that is supercharged for maximum results.

Case Study

case

Susan, the CEO of an organization, came to me with an issue about a long-term employee who had moved from operational to the executive suite. He had just lost another direct report due to his tendency to explode in anger and be dismissive and blaming when things went wrong.

She was worried about the tone he set, and his lack of awareness of his poor communication skills; not to mention the fact that two former employees had told him during their exit interview that he was the reason they left. His performance review placed him at “meeting expectations” and he was terribly upset. He had expected to be rated at “exceeding expectations.”

Because he was a very loyal, committed Executive who had built long-term relationships in the organization, Susan wanted to give him every opportunity to improve his behavior and performance. She also wanted to tread lightly.

We utilized both EQ 360 and emotional intelligence assessments to raise the Executive’s awareness of his blind spots, and then developed a plan to address those areas of concern. The Executive became aware that his approach to leading his team was perceived as erratic and often irrational, and that he expected everyone to be inspired and motivated by the same motivators as he was. He understood the impact of his behavior and management style.

Through a focused coaching strategy, he developed the mindset and skills to more effectively manage his own emotions, and lead his team more skillfully. The result was great team dynamics; and improved performance, accountability, and results.
